The Dreaded Split...

Girls night Bowling!

October 2008

We knew that this day would someday come because of how big our ward is. Well, on Sunday it happened (insert sad music here...), our ward was split. They announced it at Sacrament, and said there would be a meeting that night at the Stake Center. All day I had butterflies, and was just sick to my stomach. My friend put it the best...it's like you were back in school and were waiting to see if you made the team or got cut. I have never in my life enjoyed church as much as I have these past few years. We have the BEST WARD EVER, and it's so sad that we had to split. I told Ben I'd be ok if I stayed in the same ward with one of my best little friends, Christy. Well, we aren't in the same ward anymore. You know how you just kind of have "your person" at church...well, she is my person! There are many others that I will miss too. We have this girls night that we do once a month, and I know we will see everyone then...but it will be different, and hard for all to adjust! I love all my girlfriends, and know that our friendships will stay strong even though we aren't in the same ward anymore :-(.

Me & "my person"! Love you Christy!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

On Sunday we celebrated my sweet Grandpa's Birthday! It's always nice to get together and celebrate with the family. Zoey just adores Grandpa Lewis, and was so excited to go and see him. She made him 3 pictures, and couldn't wait to give them to him! My Grandpa turned 76, and is still SO active! He loves fishing, has season tickets to the Utes, and plays tennis weekly! We love him, and wish him the best year ever!

Zo helped him open all his presents!

Christmas Dress

I usually have to search and search for the perfect Christmas dress for Zoey! This year we lucked out and were given it! Bryan & Jaime gave her this darling dress for Christmas! I loved it, and thought she looked just darling in it!

Such a free spirit!

What a busy, crazy month it's been! We've had so much going on, and have done a lot of fun things, and I just haven't taken the time to write about them! So here is the first of many updates! This last week Zoey had her Christmas Dance Performance! I love my little free spirit! She is such a crack up to watch perform! It's cute now...don't know if it will still be cute in a few years! She LOVES to be on stage, and loves to peform. Now getting her to do the actual routine is the hard part! We've been practicing at home, so I know she knows it...but when she gets on stage it's like she forgets it all and just wants to do her own thing! She is one of a kind, and we couldn't be prouder of her! Thanks for all who came to watch her! She loved having you there to watch her!
I think one of her favorite parts of performing is getting to wear make-up! She loves getting all dolled up!

Zo is on the far left!

Here she is on the far right...doing her own little thing!

Her cute little class!

She was kind of done with pictures at this point!

Family Pictures

On Saturday we had family pictures taken with the Spencer's. Everyone looked great, and I can't wait to see how they turn out! Here are just a few that I snapped!
The kiddos...it was about impossible to get a perfect picture of all of them!

Zoey & Drew...such cute little buds!

Zoey says Taylor is her favorite cousin because she's a girl! Sorry boys!

ThAnKsGiViNg PART 2!

We were so lucky this year...we got to have 2 Thanksgiving dinners! It was our turn to go with my family this year, and Joann's turn to go with her family...so we decided to do a dinner on Friday with the Spencer family. Shanna and Zac were in town, so we really wanted to get together with them! We had so much fun! Mark & Joann hosted it at there house, and did a great job. Everything turned out perfect! {Our beautiful hostess Joann!}

Aunt Kathy, and some of the cousins came over too. It was so nice to see everyone! We managed to put together a big enough table to fit everyone on! It looked great!

My favorite part of the dinner was the rolls! Jennifer did a great job at making them! The Moss family has the best recipe, and I LOVE them! Ben said that was his favorite part too! Everyone helped by bringing something to dinner, and it was all so yummy! We stuffed ourselves full, and then were able to just hang out and talk for awhile. {Zac & Shanna}

{Us!}

{Chris & Martha}

{All of us minus Joann...she was taking the picture!}

Later on that night we went to Temple Square to see the lights. That has to be one of my favorite things to do this time of year! I love it there!

{Zoey loved it there! She had fun running around with all her cousins. I do have to admit I was freaking out a bit with how many people were there...I thought we were going to lose a kid! Joann actually had to help a kid that did lose his parents!}

{It is so beautiful there! All the lights are truly amazing...I can't believe how many there are!}

{Joann, Drew, & Mark}

{I'm so lucky to have 2 sister in laws that I love, and get along with so well!}

We ended the night taking a carriage ride! Our friends gave us a gift certificate for Christmas last year, and I've been anxious to use it! It was so fun! Zoey thought it was the best thing ever, and was so excited! It was a great day, and fun to be with family!

ThAnKsGiViNg!

I LOVE Thanksgiving! It is such a fun holiday, and I love the time we get to spend with family. I'm always mindful of the things that I'm so grateful for, but for some reason...even more so this time of year! I'm so thankful for my sweet husband Ben. I love that guy more than life itself, and am so lucky that he's mine! I'm grateful for my little ZoZo. Oh, what would we ever do without her? She's what make life worth living some days! I love her big hugs, her "I love you Mommy's", her kisses on the cheek, and just her overall sweet nature. She's so loving and caring, and I just can't imagine my world without her! I love my family. I'm so grateful we are all as close as we are, and enjoy all the times we have together! I love all my friends, and am blessed to have so many! I don't know what I'd do without my girlfriends! I could go on and on because really, everything I have I'm SO grateful for!

{The 2 I'm most grateful for in my life!}

We had such a great Thanksgiving this year! We were able to spend Thanksgiving Day with my family at Grandma Lewis's house. She always does such a great job at hosting this huge meal. Everyone pitches in, and brings their "traditional" part of the dinner. I brought Green Bean Casserole...mmm, one of my favorite parts of dinner! It was all so yummy, and we stuffed ourselves full! We then played a couple games of Scrabble, and just hung out and talked! Ben was able to get in some football, and a nap! That's what this day is all about...being with family, eating lots of yummy food, watching football, and taking a much needed nap after all that turkey! This year was Zoey's first time ever trying the actual meal, and what do you know...she loved it! She ate turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy, and tried one bite of green beans...but wasn't too big on those! It was so great to see her enjoy all the good food with us! I sure love Thanksgiving!

Grandma & Grandpa with Zoey. They just love her, and get such a kick out of her! Zoey loves them so much too, and is always asking me "How is Grandma Lewis doing?"!

Playing some Scrabble! I kicked butt both times! MODED!

My Aunt Shelly & Zo enjoying some pie!

(I forgot my camera...I know, I know, I NEVER do that, so I had to steal a few pics off of my sisters blog! Thanks Kim!)

BYU vs UTAH!

Brutal! Oh, what a sad day! We just got back from the big game, and we all know how that turned out! Not much to say...but I got some cute pictures, so enjoy!
We still love the Cougars! GO BYU!

We went to the SkyBox for lunch before the game!
(Me & my sister-in-law Joann!)

There were 10 of us there together! It was fun...at the beginning!

I was at least glad we were sitting with a bunch of Y fans...I couldn't imagine being stuck in the middle of that red!

We saw some of our UTE friends there!

Carrie Underwood

On Wednesday night, Kim, Megan, Dawn, and myself were able to go see Carrie Underwood in concert! Wow...what an amazing concert. She was SO good. I would have to say this is probably one of the best concerts I've been to. She has an amazing voice, is so beautiful, funny, and so classy! I would totally go again. I was just in awe of how beautiful her voice is! Thanks girls for such a fun night!!!

None of my pictures turned out good, so I had to steal this one from Dawn!

The Girls!

Disney On Ice

Last week we were able to go to Disney On Ice! We had awesome seats...front row! Wahoo! It was so fun to be so close to all the characters. Zoey was SO excited to be there, even though she was not feeling to good! She hung in there, and didn't want to leave. Grandma was able to go with us too...we were so glad she came with us! It was such a fun night!
Just before the show started! We were so excited to be so close!

Zoey was so excited that Grandma came with us!

This was how she spent a majority of the time there! She was not feeling good, and just wanted to lay down!

Such a fun night out together!
